Youngsters’ Concern on the Future: EdTech Application for Societal Betterment
Generation Alpha, the first cohort to grow up fully immersed in smart-phone technology, represents true digital natives—tech-savvy and adaptive to rapid technological change. Secondary schools in Hong Kong, like their global counterparts, are actively engaging students through innovative digital education initiatives to nurture curiosity, creativity, and enthusiasm. This workshop aims to empower K11-12 (pre-university) youths by deepening their understanding of cutting-edge technologies and fostering interest in innovation and technology (I&T) essential for thriving in the 21st century. We invite active secondary school teams to showcase their talents and ideas, utilizing state-of-the-art technologies such as immersive platforms and RFID, to propose solutions or broaden perspectives on how technology can benefit society. The workshop will serve as a vital platform for IEEE to connect engineering professionals with secondary school environments, facilitating meaningful EdTech exchanges. By bridging the gap between educators, students, and professionals, participants will gain a unique opportunity for learning and sharing, paving the way for collaborative efforts in shaping the future workforce and driving societal betterment through technology.
